Once again we here at Bitter Lemons are unveiling yet another never-before-seen innovation teeming with all the cyber-poetic magnificence you’ve come to expect from the hippest, fastest growing, always controversial Los Angeles theatre site on the web. What is it? Well hold onto your hats…
It’s the FRINGEMETER!
Actually, we cranked this sucker out last year, but we’ve refined this baby like a fine wine on overtime just in time for the 2012 version of the Fringe. Yes, indeed, being an official sponsor of this year’s Hollywood Fringe Festival, we have focused all of our powers along with our pals over at the Finge – a meta-mind-meld if you will – and created the perfect hybrid of the Fringe and the LemonMeter: The FringeMeter.
You’re already here, so that’s a start, but you’re probably asking, “What the heck is this thing?”
Well, basically it’s just like our LemonMeter, but instead of aggregating reviews for regular productions currently playing in Los Angeles, the FringeMeter will be aggregating reviews from shows exclusively playing at the Fringe. And what’s even cooler, you, the Fringe-going public, are the grist upon which the FringeMeter turns.
That’s right, this ain’t just for those hoity-fa-toidy professional critics out there (we’ll include them too of course on our FringeReviews page), no, this is for us common folk. So when you see a show at the Fringe, make sure you go onto the Fringe site, find the show you just saw, write a review, give it a thumbs up or thumbs down (actually the choices are “loved it”, “liked it”, and “not my thing” thereby matching our “sweet”, “bittersweet” and “bitter” categories) and then through the magic of the Inter-Nets and a bevy of brain-numbing logarithms that none of us can even begin to understand – ba-da-boom – our FringeMeter will create an aggregate score showing how positively you have rated that show! The more reviews the better!
So thanks for coming by and for participating.
See you at the Fringe!
