Bitter Lemons and FootLights Joining Forces

Yes, it’s true, LemonHeads. Enci and I are happy to announce that Bitter Lemons and Footlights – the company that provides the kick ass programs that have raised the class of theater productions all over Los Angeles for the last few years – are joining forces to create a new company called Bitter Lights – er – Lemon Foot – er – kidding! We are actually maintaining the integrity and autonomy of our own separate brands while combining our resources, talents and goals into something brand spanking new that is sure to shake the teutonic plates of your very theater existence.

Here’s the official presser:

A New Partnership for Los Angeles Theatre and Beyond

FootLights Publishing and Bitter Lemons are pleased to announce that we have inked an agreement to create an enduring relationship dedicated to better serve the theatre community.

Our brands will continue to remain distinct and autonomous but our talents, resources and goals will now be merging in ways that will sharpen our services and expand our reach like never before.

Starting in 2013, when you’re talking to Bitter Lemons you’ll also be talking to Footlights. And vice versa.

Some of the changes will be virtually undetectable, others more vivid, but the end result will be a theatre service entity that brings innovation, integrity and passion to every aspect of the making, producing and marketing of theatre here in Los Angeles and beyond.

Colin Mitchell will continue as editor-in-chief of Bitter-Lemons and Peter Finlayson will continue to serve as editor-in-chief of Footlights, as well as the CEO of FootLights Publishing, Inc.. Ty Donaldson will expand his role of art director to oversee the graphics and design elements of Bitter Lemons and Mark Nockels, our marketing director, will now be representing both FootLights and Bitter Lemons.

Together, we will create a powerful team that will help strengthen individual opportunities for theatres everywhere.

Please feel free to contact us with questions, thoughts, concerns, or congratulations.

Illuminating the Theatre Community
Bringing the Ancient Art of Theater into the Twenty-First Century.
Whether It Likes it or Not.

Stay tuned, LemonHeads. More surprises to come.

Congratulations on your partnership with Footlights.

Theatre Palisades has now contracted with Footlights for its programs, the first of which is for Has Anybody Here Seen Roy? by Diane Grant, which runs from Friday, January the 18th through February the 17th.

We are delighted to be producing a new play for our 50th Anniversary Season and I’m wondering how to send you a press release.

    Thanks for any info.
