YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN THE MUSICAL, with music and lyrics by Mel Brooks and book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan, is a wickedly inspired re-imagining of the Frankenstein legend based on Mel Brooks’ classic comedy masterpiece — his 1974 film, “Young Frankenstein”. The story follows bright young Dr. Frankenstein (that’s Fronkensteen) as he attempts to complete his grandfather’s masterwork and bring a corpse to life.

Wow… I have seen some BAD theatre in my time… but THIS.. THIS was awful! I hate to be a jerk but really… this was not cute. Luckily, I have funn wherever I go. I had a blast watching the drunk/valium’d out piano player/musical producer… swaying in between the long scene changes…. playing the keyboard poorly. The acting sucked, the choreography was a mess, and I just love seeing a trainwreck. I have been in some trainwrecks, but nothing this monumentally fucked! It was fun.
