SWEET
By slashing the text and skewing his able ensemble to film and television references, director Tiger Reel streamlines the Bard for maximum accessibility.
David C. Nichols – Backstage
SWEET
This cast. This adaptation. This production. So good. So very, very good. Not to be missed at the Hollywood Fringe this year.
Noah Nelson – Turnstyle
SWEET
Directed by Action! Theatre Company artistic director, Tiger Reel, it is a provocative interpretation of the play – smart, contemporary, funny & challenging, and it even came in at exactly 90 minutes as the schedule said it would.
Ellen Dostal – BroadwayWorld
SWEET
It has some genuinely good performances in it, and, by cutting a lot out of the play, the adaptation has a sharper focus on Shylock’s story, making his journey much more effective.
Sharon Perlmutter – Talkin’ Broadway
SWEET
Playful but not glib, this worthwhile production blends satiric riffs and a contemporary sensibility into a meaningful rendering of Shakespeare’s troubling play.
Deborah Klugman – LA Weekly
SWEET
This is one of the best, if not the best, offerings of this year’s Fringe. Don’t miss it – two very hearty thumbs up!
Bob Leggett – LA Examiner
