An Invitation to the LADCC

First off. A moment of silence for Dave Depino, a kind, intelligent man and critic who was dedicated to LA theatre and was a true advocate for all of us in the community. He passed away a few days ago. I knew him, not well, but well enough. Rest in peace my friend.

Now. Today’s post is an invitation to those in the LADCC (not to be confused with the LBC) – that would be the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle the supposed “theatre critics body of record” – would love to have any of you listening (Madeline Shaner I know you posted once and appreciate it and hope you do so again) to check in and either post a comment to this particular entry, or become a contributor and post your own entry – but would love you to answer three questions for us all.

Here they are:

What is your definition of “quality theatre”?

What draws you to a show most, i.e. just because it’s an assignment, the playwright, the company, the actual theatre, etc…?

If you could offer advice to the Los Angeles theatre community at large, what would it be?

And a bonus question: if you were a flower what kind would you be?
